5 March 2012 8:30 am – Hotkey email and web site is down and no ETR at present.
There is a problem at the data centre hosting their equipment and Hotkey is working on fixing the problem.
To receive real time updates follow us on twitter @redbackcomms
Update 9:30 am – Aiming to have service restored within the next 2 hours.
Update 11:52 am – Still having issues, waiting on update from Hotkey. Data centre staff trying hard to fix problems. No ETR time indicates the problem is harder to fix than first thought.
Update 12:45 pm – Fixed! Hotkey website and email now working. Phew, that was a tough few hours. We’ll get a post mortem in the next day or two and post it here.
17 Aug 2011. The Domain name renewal scam surfaces again. All correspondence you receive from Domain Renewal Group, Domain Name Group or Domain Registry of America is a scam. It looks legitimate however they have been fine tuning their scam for quite a few years and improved the look of their ‘offer’ or invoice.
Do not take any notice of letters or what appear to be invoices from these people. They are well known to local authorities and the ACCC has a notice on their website about it.
See http://www.accc.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/54057
If you have any questions about this scam please call us.
To meet our evolving business needs and resolve issues with the current earthlink email servers, we will no longer be supporting the earthlink.com.au mailboxes as of 31 Oct 2011. This means all earthlink.com.au email addresses will stop working after 31 Oct 2011.
What do you need to do?
Nothing at the moment. We are giving you advance notice so that you have time to think about how you want to manage the changeover with people and businesses sending you emails.
What are the next steps and when?
We will create a new email box for you as close as possible to your existing name (eg yourname@rbia.com.au) and will confirm the email address with you in mid-late August. To ensure a smooth transition, we will also copy any email from our earthlink mailbox to this mailbox and will continue to forward any emails sent to your earthlink mailbox to your new address up to 31st October 2011.
Early September we will send you an email with the settings you will need to enter into your PC email program.
Please remember: you will not receive any emails to the earthlink mailbox after the 31 October 2011.
Regards,
Rod
